Do you take time to reflect before eating a meal?
Whenever I log on to the forum I see this question. White or brown?
If it refers to rice, I eat white rice or more often (with Indian curry), yellow rice.
If it refers to bread, I tend to eat wholemeal with the least quantity of sugar I can find.
I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer but I really can't imagine to what else the question is referring.
Can anyone help?

I'm confused, what do you mean? Reflection before eating to me means taking time to pray or meditate. Or maybe sitting at a dinner table with the whole family and catching up on everyone's day. I don't think it means to think about whether you want rice or not.

Ey up BFY....I'm puzzled....why do you always see the question " I see this question. White or brown?"
Because I've not seen that question 'till today, in this thread???

I'm now somewhat paranoid. I've been up north for the weekend and when I return, it's not there anymore. I cannot have imagined it even considering the dementia. Please can someone confirm that the question was asked somewhere on the site?

the white brown question was one of the last survey question type things that was asked on the main page a long time ago.. The page persisted as an acessable link til very recently but wasn't linked to from the main page.. My guess is you were using an old bookmark that directed you to that old link page and it has now be redirected to the normal main page as part of the site rebuild and cleanup. Or on the otherhand you could just be going loopy. ![]()

Re: Do you take time to reflect before eating a meal?
I recently found some brown chickpeas in an Asian grocer. I decided to buy them, and commented to the shopkeeper that I'd never seen them before. He said a lot of people think they're healthier than the white ones.
Not sure I credit that. People always think brown things are healthier and it ain't necessarily so. But I bought them. Thought they'd look interesting, especially mixed with the white ones. Just cooked some. They taste the same as the white ones, just a bit smaller, and I'm glad to note they keep their colour when cooked - unlike pinto beans, which are a great disappointment to me, as their beautiful spots wash off when I cook them ![]()

Why is it if I click the frowny face icon, it turns into a helplessly sobbing icon after I submit the post? I'm not THAT sad about pinto beans losing their spots.
