Ask me about Food Revolution Day!

Hey guys,

As you might have seen, our second annual Food Revolution Day is coming up on May 17th.

We know a lot of people aren't totally clear about what that actually entails, however, so I invite you to use this thread to fire any questions you may have about the incredible global event at me, and from there the Food Rev team and I will make sure your queries are answered.

You can also read about FRD on the event's website - http://foodrevolutionday.com

So, go on - no matter how big or small a question - hit me!

Re: Ask me about Food Revolution Day!

Will all the Jamies Italians be doing Food revolution events again this year ?

Last year I went along to to the Cardiff Jamies Italian where they are making a huge picture of a Welsh Dragon made out of Pasta.

I cant put on a event but am willing to come along and help .

Hey Mummza, we're told that yep, JI will be getting involved, although nobody's sure exactly how yet. More on that as it develops...

Anybody thinking of putting anything on?

Re: Ask me about Food Revolution Day!

Its a shame I live so far away....but am planning to get my family, friends and workmates aware of food revolution day! So am planning to surprise my workmates on the day in the morning with homemade sandwiches instead of bought ones - I will even try to bake bread myself in honor of the day. Also my niece who is 11 will be visiting me so so will be making lunch from scratch - thinking homemade pizza - she will love that, and maybe planting some herbs to teach her the value of fresh produce. In the evening will try to get my friends together to have a food revolution party, where everyone comes together and cooks there own favorite food - key is cooking from scratch..... wink
I downloaded the idea brochures from the food revolution day website yesterday...so my plans are a work in progress....
Oh and we putting up a flyer in my friends cafe that more people can be aware of that day - thanks for making all these things available - looking forward to Food revolution day.

Welcome to the forum useimagination smile

Welcome Nadine , you have some wonderful plans and have got right into the sprit of food revolution. The best thing about the food revolution is that everyone can be involved no matter where they live in the world .

I am sure your niece will love making pizza , I think there is likely to be Vidio of Gennaro Contaldo making pizza , I'm sure I've seen one at some time. I will try to look when I get time later today or tomorrow and I will add a link for you if I can find it.

Re: Ask me about Food Revolution Day!

Hey Nadine,

It's so great to hear you're putting together some plans for Food Rev Day! It sounds like you've got things under control but if I can help at all or answer any questions you might have do let me know! Have you registered your stuff on the Food Rev Day site?

For anybody who's still a bit unsure of what to do, there's a nice little section of the site about getting involved by putting on an event here - http://foodrevolutionday.com/get-involved.html

This is YOUR time to shine guys!

Nadine , you might enjoy these video's I know that they are cooked in wood fired ovens ,if you are using a conventional oven turn the temperature up and get the oven really hot before you put the pizza in.
