The Confession room...

Thought I would start a new thread, "The confession room"......

Here you can admit to your cooking "Sins"..and ask for forgiveness....

Though don't blame me if the regular foodies  on here just laugh in your face.....

I'll start......

Hello, My name is Mike, I'm a 51 year old Male who has never cooked a Pizza from scratch...nope...not ever...

I've adapted bought in chilled Pizzas, I've used ready made Pizza bases...I've even had Pizza delivery...

It's time to repent my sin...Tomorrow I shall make my own Pizza from scratch, 00 flour, yeast, salt and sugar...

Can you all forgive me ????

Or am I doomed to be an outcast from the forum forever???? help

Re: The Confession room...

of course, wine~o , make the dough early so that the gluten developes and its then able to stretch well and dont be tempted to overtop the pizza .
You'll wonder why you have never made a pizza before !

whats my sin...

somtimes when I am making fresh vegetable stock I enhance it a bit with a bit of Marigold stock powder.
Because I dont always have in what I need to make a really tasty veg stock .
There Ive said it !

Re: The Confession room...

well, wine~o, keep your pizza dough well hidden from me, cause I can´t resist stealing a tiny piece of dough from where-ever. even when I am your guest, if you have left the bowl with dough somewhere, I steal a bit and don´t tell ya. even though I dont eat white bread, the dough is just...different.

Re: The Confession room...

I'm a great sinner from ancient times and even if I promise to change I'll never do the same recipe twice, that's why my pizzas are always something to be discussed ...... the last one was more crusty, this should have been left rising longer and and and ..... by the time everything has been commented and suggested there is no one slice left wink  cool  oops  crossed  lol

Gosh. Mine might get me kicked out for good.

I cheat when I make gravy.

I add water & wine to the roasting pan & cook for a few minutes scraping the bits off the bottom. Then thicken with store bought gravy powder.

I also use stock cubes these days. Good ones but still.  I rarely have a day to make chicken or any other stock for the freezer anymore.

I also cheat with croutons, made them once and thought the bought ones with difference flavours were so much better.

Also cheat with stock cubes the new Knorr ones are great.

I can't wait to hear how your pizza turned out Mike!  I bet you'll want to make it from scratch again.

My latest convenient purchase is frozen cooked brown rice that heats up in minutes in the microwave.  I've never had brown rice cooked by others or myself that I thought was cooked correctly until I had this stuff.

I also eat frozen berries right after a run and never admit it when I get sick afterwords. I blame it on work.

and I have never made:

pasta
lasagne

Frizz,  Hubby and I use gravy powder as well.  So darn easy and good.
I have never made my own pasta but have always wanted to.

Re: The Confession room...

I had never used and, I admit, turned my nose up at those microwave 90 second rices. Then I saw Jamie use them on 15 MM. I don't always do what "Jamie tells me to do", but next time I was at the supermarket a sachet managed to land in my trolley wink.

Now, I admit to having one of jasmine , one of basmati and one of brown rice in the cupboard. I prefer to make my own but these are handy for nights when there's just me and it's late.

Said it!
