Chicken is already cheap enough, I usually buy packs of frozen chicken breasts and they come to about £1 a fillet.

Re: Dirty Bernard
Is that not slightly nasty chicken though, Alex? I mean, Chip Shop Kerry Katona advertises it.
Get some corn fed Freedom Foods or organic down your neck. And stay away from the turkey ham!

Re: Dirty Bernard
I went off eating supermarket cheap chicken ages ago - I get mine from one of three local farm shops.
Buying in quantity actually works out cheaper than supermarket anyway - A dozen poussin cost less than a tenner!
Guinea Fowl are just 3-4 quid each, and have loads more flavour.
Not certified organic, but all free-range, and from local producers and traceable, so you can check their credentials.

Re: Dirty Bernard
Chicken from the supermarket is tasteless even when you dossie it up.
Organic and free range birds have loads of flavour on their own, and are fantastic when given a little love.
You will notice a huge difference, and when you do, you will be inclined to buy in bulk. I do.

They honestly don't taste too bad. I used to buy them from the butchers but buying that many on a bulking diet became too much.
And I don't touch turkey ham
Or any other processed meats like that ![]()

Mess with nature and it messes right back. Who in their right mind would eat any Matthews product now?
I noticed the poultry price fall has already begun.

Re: Dirty Bernard
I took your advice and i'm glad I did. I went down to the butchers yesturday and bought a whole chicken which he cut up for me (into the legs breasts etc) and it really does have so much more taste.
And it made me realise how much I love their bacon! Nice thick slices with the rind still on, better than the flimsy crap!
How much do you usually pay for a chicken? At the place I went to they're about £4 something each.

Re: Dirty Bernard
Nice one Alex!
At the prices I saw yesterday you can get a good sized free range for about £4-4.50 or an organic from £6.
Both will be way superior to Kerry Katona's frozen breasts.
And don't get me started on supermarket bacon rat rashers!
