Buttermilk substitute
Sorry to ask a second "substitute" question.
Buttermilk, here, is sold in 600-1000ml containers.
Most times, I only need 250ml max. How much vinegar/lemon juice should I add to 250ml "ordinary" milk to produce an acceptable buttermilk substitute?
Many thanks,
Maree.

Re: Buttermilk substitute
Hi there,
I couldn't help but notice your mention of buttermilk. A good substitute is soured creamor failing that natural yoghurt. Does the same thing as buttermilk. But over here in the UK i noticed it on the shelf at TESCO for the first time...result! ![]()
