Thinking about Easter

I reckon I'll slowly pot roast a whole leg of lamb with some fresh rosemary, lamb stock and pomegranate juice. Spices will likely be added according to what I get in my hand at the time. I think I'll use the old village style clay oven (aka fourno) instead of the kitchen one.

It's a toss up right now between a homemade mint jelly and thick and creamy full fat greek yogurt (made with ewes milk) spiked with mint.

Re: Thinking about Easter

Falconcy....

we found some greek yogurt....

We can get it at a farmers market and some larger shopping complexes have a stall.

they said it was 97% fat free....

I haven't figured out how it CAN be fat free.....  it tastes so yummy and scrumptious. The company here mixes it with puree fruit of your choice or nuts and stuff.

I was actually thinking of baking an orange and almond cake and having it with some greek yogurt.

Great minds think alike....    cool

Without a doubt, greek yogurt really is something else, even the lower fat ones. Any recipe that requires yogurt will taste so much better if you use it.

Try it with honey and chopped walnuts.

Re: Thinking about Easter

It will never hang around long enough to freeze  whistle

Seriously, I guess if you made a yogurt "ice cream" using Greek yogurt as a base then yes it would be OK. The thing is though that this kind of yogurt tends to be a live culture and I suspect that freezing would kinda defeat the object here.
