Re: this weeks sport.

my little brother (ok, maybe not so little... his 10, almost six foot, around 60kg and a size 10 shoe... yet the doctors arent worried about his size one bit!- despite other health problems) plays junior rugby union since he was 7... he is a forward, of course, lol... not very agile. the whole family gets involved... every saturday we watch him play- rain, hail or shine. this week they lost, but it was only a trial match, meaning the score wasnt recorded (not making excuses, but the training oval has been closed thanks to the council, and they havent got a full team yet.. rego was 2 months ago!).

we are a footy mad family... also into rugby league.. the mighty sydney roosters (having a shocker seasons.. despite blaming the coach, ricky stuart- who was replaced by chris anderson, and still have had only 1 win this season... they won the match i went to).
they played canberra raiders and lost (surprise, surprise) 28-32... it was a really good game though, and a fun night out... quite often we go down to the local leagues club to watch them on the big screen... unless its a local match at northpower... which of course we go to and are very vocal, lol!!

gregandjanine- we went to a springboks vs australia match last yr at telstra stadium (i think it was)... lined up at 6am just to get tickets! worth it though. what loacal team do you support? we are into the nsw waratahs... they won last week over queensland! YEAH!!!! lol. cant remember the score though. my mum has a friend who plays for randwick as well...

other than footy... surfing is good too... every saturday in summer we usually go down to the beach, and on a sunday, tuesday and thursday too, lol... usually have a picninc or a bbq on a saturday down there with friends... sometimes in winter as well.... its not sooo bad...

anyways, i had better be going, lol..

Re: this weeks sport.

Having been raised in Victoria and only living in Brisbane for 2 years, I am more of an AFL girl... Essendon..    smile   Before you go troppo... at least I didn't say Collingwood!!!

We are just getting into the NRL. I said I wasn't prepared to change my AFL team, so said I could be persuaded to follow the Brisbane Bronco's. We actually belong to the leagues club down there, mainly so we can get the discounts on the meals... they serve a great smorgasbord...  If you ever vist Bris... it would be a great place to visit and have a meal.

We have only been to the Wallabies game and the Kangaroo's game. The game last night against NZ was certainly blaring on our tele...  My two boys and hubby were cheering with gusto... and stuffing their faces with junk food, but hey, if you can't have fun at least once a week, then life would be very sad.

I would like to take my boys to a Bronco's game but we haven't organised ourselves around it yet. Maybe a plan for this season???  I'd like it to be a team that is closely matched to them, so the score will be close and will be more exciting... especially for our first game.

Cheers,
Janine

Re: this weeks sport.

im not into afl that much, but i do like essendon (mainly coz my family from melbourne are HUGE essendon supporters). and we went down to out local leagues club to watch the game last night..... lots of fun, not only to watch the game, but also to meet up with friends and socialise, lol. thinking we may head down to the warratahs game (think its againts the QLD reds) later (or maybe the monster trucks).
just got back from watching the seniors game down the road. 3rd grade won (dont know the scores tho), 2nd grade lost and 1st grade won. it was lots of fun, but theres lots of drinking (no, not me, lol) which means there tend to be a few fights (thats always fun =P), and then they all get in their cars and drive home hmm
