With the kugel recipe, can it be any recipe such as using the noodle kugel or does it have to be a straight Kugel?
Says me who has never eaten or even seen this dish eitherKugel, bugel, spewgle, as long as your source says its Kugel I reckon its fair game.

They sound like a mixture of Frittata and those Savoury cakes!

After reading the Wiki definition there are many ways to make krugel.
But if you want the more traditional krugel you would have to look further into its German origins. I had a quick squiz and found this link.

This appears to be a more traditional form of Kugel.

Re: Ready, Set, Cook Discussion Thread
Well I don't know where this week has gone! I haven't even been to the shops. I have written out my lovely stuffed pumpkin recipe, but I WAS going to try something with parsnip and thyme as well.
I will definitely go shopping tomorrow.
Has anyone done any of this weeks challenges? ![]()

Re: Ready, Set, Cook Discussion Thread
I was planning to do something with parsnips for this weekend's Christmas in July dinner that we will be having with friends but I was assigned the after dinner treats. I've also been feeling rotten for a week now so haven't done much in the kitchen, almost had man-flu
Hope I get to make something over the weekend.

Okay for the vegetarian option I kept with the theme and made the spiced parsnip soup.

I found this soup quite spicy and warming and lovely with some crunchy bread.![]()
Although it is not something that I could eat a great deal of in one sitting. ![]()
For the second part of the challenge I made baked parsnip with thyme.

Mrs master, how about doing a gluten free recipe week? To give people a bit of a feel for those kinds of recipes (not all of them need special ingredients). We could use the gluten free thread for the recipe source.

Great idea WR!
Hey and my dish might need to count as a trial run - I think I have not got it quite right, but it is gluten free, so I can do it again then!
