Ministry of Food in CANADA!
Hi there,
My name is Roxy Rockford and I live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
I was very much touched by Jamie Oliver's show and foundation, "Ministry of Food". I am very passionate about food and cooking and I would love to participate in something like "Pass it On", but I just don't know where to start and where to find more supporters.
If there is anyone else interested in introducing "Ministry of Food" and "Pass it On" here in Canada, please contact me and maybe someone from Jamie's team can contact us and key us in on the first steps to starting this revolution! ![]()
my contact info is: roxyrockford @ hotmail.com
Thanks! ![]()

I don't know what it involves either, but if it has anything to do with food, count me in.

Hi
I was watching Jamie's talk he gave to TED foundation after he received the award and something that he said struck me as an easy way to begin the revolution.
Being a food ambassador in your local supermarket. I am going to arrange a meeting with the manager and see if it couldn't be arranged somehow. Perhaps picking three ingredient and doing a quick stir fry. All you need is a hot plate and a wok. And probably your food safe, which is easily available on line.
I keep you posted.
Good luck and don't be afraid to follow a hair brained scheme you never know where it might end up.

Re: Ministry of Food in CANADA!
Dear Jamie,
I would also like to see the Ministry of Food or the Food Revolution come to Canada. I have lived twice in England and always upon coming home to Canada I am shocked at the lack of fresh food available in supermarkets. It seems like most of the food in the supermarket is not even food at all, but a chemical concoction that we then feed to our children and families. And when it is real food, there are so many preservatives in it. Lettuce should not last 2 months in my fridge! I looked into healthy food lobbyists in Canada, but I could fine none that exist. There are Food Manufacturing Lobbyists, which explains the amount of garbage on our grocery shelves. I would like the Canadian Government to take notice of how unhealthy Canadians are, and start to pass some laws to stop the amount of fat and salt and chemicals that are going into our food. Perhaps with the help of your Ministry of Food or Food Revolution, a healthy change can be made in my country as well.

Re: Ministry of Food in CANADA!
Dear Jamie,
Your ministry of food has been an inspiration to me. I have MCS and react very badly to toxins in household, bath/beauty, and FOOD products. It amazes me how hard it is to eat a meal without toxic ingredients. I've revolutionized the ingredients in our kitchen, and how I buy food. I know where my food comes from and even started a little wild harvesting. I just have to wait till spring to start the new garden.
Though we don't have access to as much fresh ingredients as other area's of the country, even using whole dry spices and fresh when available, and shopping as local as possible makes a huge difference. Finding local food outside the grocery store has opened up my food options as well.
I have even gone farther and started making my own cleaning, bath and beauty products with ingredients from m y kitchen to avoid toxins.
Though I struggle to pass it on some times, I do my best. I am in Southern Alberta and willing to help out anyone, and open to new idea's to pass it on.
