This is what Potatoes Au Gratin tries to be in this country but fails miserably at.

Re: Wouldn't it be cool?
I make something sort of like tartiflette but it's in a pie crust with Gruyere. Most of the other ingredients are the same (potatoes, bacon, cream, etc.). At least, it looks pretty much the same based on my quick Google search. It's one of my favorite dishes because it's so filling that it lasts forever and I get to eat it for the next few days for lunch as well
(a small piece fills everyone up, so we have leftovers for at least a couple of days). So, I'd be up for making that soon - I love it so much that I think it's good cold as well.
Edit: Oh, now I see the pictures mummza posted but I can't see how to see the recipe? ![]()

Re: Wouldn't it be cool?
It was Kye that started the tarttiflette , she mentioned it when she was talking about the English coming to stay with her.
I had never realised that the dish that I remember eating with my Grandmother had a name till then !
I did not use a recipe , I just made it as I have done so in the past.
I have made it with Camembert and Brie in that past ,but the proper cheese to use is reblochon .
