Re: Ministry of Food in CANADA!
There is a small movement, toward improved food buying etc.
However there is a huge and growing population that is struggling with obesity and mass incidence of Diabetes, while struggling with high rates of poverty and clashes with the justice system. That is our Canadian aboriginal communities and we could certainly use the assistance of the Jamie Oliver Food Revolution in helping to educate all Canadians on ways to eat healthier and bring down the incidence of diet related illnesses.
I would love to see it come to Alberta!
Yeah for "people food"!

Re: Ministry of Food in CANADA!
Has anyone got any further with this in Canada? I work in a childcare centre in BC where we are preparing all the meals for the kids. We are using organic and local where possible but ALL is home made. (Bread, soup, nutritious mac and cheese etc. etc.)
I would love to know if anyone has any idea how to start the Food Revolution or Ministry of Food here? I definately want to be a part of it and I know the owners of my centre would too! ![]()

I'd definitely be interested!
I live in Toronto, Ontario as well. I think it would be great to get it started.

Re: Ministry of Food in CANADA!
yay more Canadian voices! I see BC, Alberta, Ontario so far. Who else?
does anyone have any ideas about how to attract the interest of Jamie's team in starting a food revolution in Canada. I am sending an email to the contact page I was given but I don't know how effective that will be? has anyone tried this?

Re: Ministry of Food in CANADA!
Hello fellow Canadians,
I love what Jamie is doing in UK and US, we need to band together as Canadians and start making changes here too! I saw the TED video as well and it made me think there was more I could do as a mother and a person who loves to cook.
I live in Napanee, Ontario and I think we can make a difference together.
Let's do something.

Re: Ministry of Food in CANADA!
Hello from Manitoba!
As someone who believes in the importance of family dinner and home cooked food, I love what Jamie is doing in the UK and the US. Food security in Canada's inner cities is being replaced by the fast food drive thru, and the ability to put a meal together from fresh ingredients is being lost. (It makes me sad, but I could go on and on.)
This is an important issue is Canada too! What can I do?
