Re: Soup's on!!

Ann - I put loads of celery, carrot & onion, plus some red pepper into the slowcooker with the bone.

After 6 hours I added soaked white beans & green split peas..

Soon I will remove the bone & strip the meat from it to be added back in..

Frizz,  That sounds so delicious!!!  I just soaked my lima beans (butter beans) for about 6 hours and then added onion, pepper, tad of salt,  and the ham bone.  It still had lots of ham shavings hanging on.  It made such a good soup.  I ate every drop.   smile

Re: Soup's on!!

Just made a big pot of chicken stock this morning - think I'll make tortilla soup with some of it.

That French onion soup looks great, too, but don't have any beef stock in the freezer.  hmm

Re: Soup's on!!

My favourite soup is leek and potato every time - so simple delicious and warming!

Here's a page with over 50 soup recipes on it, all with pictures which is a great help in deciding which to cook. http://www.cookuk.co.uk/soup-recipes.htm
