Re: What did you find in your garden today?

......A bloomin' great bonfire that is so wet it refused to burn overnight!

I would normally compost garden waste, but with the rain & so on it's now so full of seeds it has to be burnt to get rid of them.

Other than that, the nice day we had yesterday has resulted in the garden having some well deserved TLC................11 wheelbarrowfuls of weeds/grass, all the edges of the borders trimmed, all the raised beds weeded/checked for pest damage/& in places reseeded, & trees/hedges trimmed back into shape.

Unfortunately the nice weather hasn't lasted more than the one day, we have stormy weather (more blasted wind & rain) forecast for tonight through until the w/e. Heaven knows if my tomatoes will ever be put out for 'the summer'.

More rain, this time with gusty wind that has my potato plants nearly flat to the floor!

Um, excuse me, you upstairs.............I know the 'British Summer' is a universal joke with foreigners, but I have stopped laughing! Get your finger out & give us some sunshine (Minnie, be careful what you wish for............a Saharan Summer????).

The way I feel, if I never see a 'British Summer' again it will be a day too soon!

Oh, & I have a 2nd cold in 4 weeks (I have only been free of the lung infection 5 days!)

You may well be right, but I couldn't face travelling anywhere just now. Had less than 2hrs sleep & that seems to be it for the night!

I'll second that !

Did you say summer Minnie .
. I thought it was autumn .
( with confused trees as their leaves are green not brown !!) leaves a d branches blown from the trees , torrential rains and gusting winds .
Not a rose in sight on the massive climbing rose bush but plenty of petals on the ground .
Budlia plant fallen and snapped with the winds ( it will grow back !)
People putting their heating back on in their homes .
Does not feel like mid summer at all .
