Might as well plan thanksgiving
Most that know me, know me from my hydroponic gardening and misadventures in the kitchen. Well, with my power wheelchair DOA ...I can't really do either of those until my new chair arrives. This summer, my sister and I had this idea to do the entire thanksgiving meal ourselves(usually my Ma and my aunt Di do it). While I'm down I might as well plan thanksgiving. Here's what we got so far:
Soph
Turkey
Baked Mac n' Cheese
Collards(flavored with Smoked Turkey Wings)
Sweet Potato Pie?
Me(these will be from Jamie's books, of course)
Beef Pot Roast
Braised Cabbage
Brownies- Soph insisted ![]()
?????
I am drawing a blank on what to add and I want to make sure I contribute equally....any ideas??? ![]()

Mummza,
If I can find a different potato dish to do from the one I did last year, sure. My sister wasn't here last year so I don't want to repeat too much and have folks be bored.

I used Delia's roast potato recipe last year, thanks to Anna. It's very good:

MsP,
(((HUG))) This recipe looks pretty good though, what variety of potatoes did you use? I haven't heard of the ones the recipe mentions before. How did your version of this turn out?

Hi Wheelie!
Your menu sound delicious . Hope you get your new wheelchair soon. I know you are missing cooking. Baked sweet potaoes in there jacket would be good even with the sweet potato pie being served. Potato salad is always a good choice at my house for thanksgiving.

Hi, Ann ![]()
My sister may do sweet potato pie, we don't know yet. As to the potato salad...I'm an NC girl too-- a holiday ain't a holiday without somebody making potato salad! ![]()

Hugs Back to you! I'm about to catch up with your latest blog. My system was slow when I tried to access it before.
I used Yukon Gold, if memory serves. I wish we had Desiree in our shops. I'd like to try it for roasting.
