Re: Whats For Supper?

Almost 8pm and just home from work.

Am going to give that "new" recipe for Tuscan Bean Stew" a go for dinner tonight- the one using the "mysterious" (to me) cranberry beans.

OK, I cheated. I did most of the prep last night before bed and I used tinned cranberry and tinned flageolet beans to speed things up for tonight.

Just a matter of putting it all together and crossed Smells good crossed

Re: Whats For Supper?

I'm laying in bed recovering from a big job of cleaning out a very damp, moldy, dusty storage unit for my father.

We had a big barbecue lunch at Urban barbecue with my brother, so I may not need anything for dinner tonight.  I kind of wish I'd found a ripe mango when shopping today because I feel like fruit would be just the thing.  Would one of you come over here and provide me with some fresh fruit cup?  Thanks!

Re: Whats For Supper?

Had to work today. Just home so I'm going to use a portion of last night's Tuscan bean soup (was yummy) over some rice and cook like a pilaf. Sounds weird, eh? Hope it tastes OK.

No "get ahead Sunday". Oh well. Will try for "get ahead Monday" instead.

MsP, mango(e)s and stone fruit are out of season here. Best I can do is to "send" you some poached quince. They smelled/smelt so wonderful in the fruit bowl, it was sort of a shame to cook them. Did them with the "usual" and added a couple of star anise to the syrup.

Re: Whats For Supper?

I ground 4lb's of sirloin steak and 2 lbs of bacon, i added some seasoning before i ground it up. called: moink-burger (moo  & oink)

i made two burgers, one for my wife and i. i placed them on the rib-o-lator inside my kettle using the cajun ring and the pitmaster IQ110 for temp control.

i cooked the burgers at 300-320 grill temp. i cooked the burgers until they reached 140 internal temp and then placed on the grate to reverse sear. they came out perfect.

i used a little honey mustard mixed with some Cayenne and a little mayo on the other side. i added sweet onion, avocado, and tomatoes, oh-ya and some cilantro.

my wife even liked it but she thought there was to much bacon she wanted to taste the meat more. TO MUCH BACON!!! I THOUGHT IT NEED MORE! i think even the pigs would agree that you can's have to much.
