I have also been thinking about making florantines for christmas gifts , as far as I know they have to be made and given fairly quickly ,they do not have the greatest 'shelf life' as I remember. I havnt made them for a long tome so its hard to fully remember.

Shelf life can be extended but coating / dipping them in chocolate .
