Thanks for the input. However, Panasonic got back to me, eventually, and advised to stick to the recipe given for that breadmaker model. Not a great deal of help there but hey! I've made 2 white loaves in the machine now and they have been great.

A 32-oz diet soda and a bag of honey-wheat pretzels (for now) and a 12-oz can of diet soda (for later).
Will need to pick up a Crock-pot later in the month (friends' wedding present).
