Tescos are a big supermarket chain over here, they source their "Value" range Burgers from a supplier in Ireland..No-one is quite sure how the Horse meat got in to the supply chain at the mo...

Nothing wrong with eating Horse-meat per-se, just that the Brits don't usually,(and are a bit squemish about it) unlike our Continental cousins... Kye?? are you a fan???

It depends on what the horsemeat was intended for, & how it slipped into this particular chain that will be investigated.

It doesn't necessarily mean that the horsemeat was 'unfit for human consumption', but rather that it got into products it wasn't meant to without 'Health & Safety' or 'Food Standards' picking it up before it left the Processor.
There are issues with this on so many levels, without even looking at the 'Eww'-factor.

Note: Relying on information given by 'the Press' is also a no-no since most of them print in a sensationalist manner (& for whom the 'truth' is a far rarer creature than the dodo)...........no doubt more accurate info will appear over the next few days!
