Re: Tesco "Value range" Beef burgers....

aww come on you guys, i heard there was a big dust-up going on between the forces of good, and the forces of horse-eating evil! So I come in for the first time in months, and now everybody's deleted everything? Where's the fun in that?

MMMMMMM     Horsey Goodness.      Much leaner than beef and like Kye said  more nutrients.   It is not common to find here  and I can certainly see why it would upset . On the upside , all those people who were eating those value mystery meat burgers actually were potentially getting more healthy protein than they thought.

Re: Tesco "Value range" Beef burgers....

I dont think there is anything wrong with eating horse ,( Ive tried it and like all meat I didnt like the texture or the taste myself, as I remember it was toughter then beef.)
But what I do think what is wrong is that nowadays with all the stringent writing of all ingredients on the lables ,  it is wrong and possibly illegal that horse was not mentioned on the list of ingredients.

I think Brits in general dont like to eat anything that they consider to be classed as pets.

Well I suppose the one hing that has come out of this so called scandle is that the Brits will happily eat horse !!!

Re: Tesco "Value range" Beef burgers....

Oh, my mistake, it seems that all the fun was on Facebook, not here. But I agree with Mummza, the real issue is not whether or not someone would choose to eat horse meat, but the criminal, undisclosed adulteration of ground beef, and the implications of uninspected and unregulated meat product making its way onto supermarket shelves.
