New, want to pick up the utensils and try this as a career path
Hello, i'm 20 years of age, working a dead end job, need to pay house keeping and want to move forward in life, I want to try being a chef as a profession.
Where do I start? What qualifications are needed to start off my career as a chef?

Hello
You need to go to college and get a work placement. Some restaurants will pay for you to get training while working.

Hi there
Studying is a good option and there is loads that you can do when you are not studying as well after all practice makes perfect! Start cooking for family and friends if you don't already - read new recipe books, go to farmers markets and speak with stall holders there....
there are also some wonderful people here on the site from all over the world who can help you along the way...
let us know how you get on
Cheers
Danny
