I stole my name from Scotland!  We had a holiday home in the West Highlands (my paradise).  Driving along en route to 'our place' and I saw this property with the house name of Thistledo.  Soooooo clever and appealed to our sense of humour.  It's mine now - forever.

I have been using online forums/chats for about 20 yrs now. Most  of the nicknames I have used in that time  come from fantasy books by Raymond E Feist with a sprinkling of norse mythology.  milamber(ticketmaster when it had a bulletinboard chat  18 or 19 yrs ago) ,Pug, Nakor,Ashen`Shugar(I used these three on Dalnet IRC  for many years .)  I have also used Loki, Ratatosk, Fenris . I still use Nakor for most things ( I most identify with this character)  but I think Nakor was taken and I wanted something shorter than Ashen`Shugar for this forum so I cut it  down to Ashen.


And there you go, more than you ever wanted to know about my online pseudonyms .   

Mine is likewise my name. Luckily there aren't many Merlins about.
