Higher welfare----

I think I know what you mean. Just want to make sure.

Does it mean better for the health of the person eating it?

I'd assume it means higher welfare for the animal. I don't think there would be sufficient medical studies to make a link to better health for the person eating it.

Higher welfare is hard to determine here in Australia. The classification of free range chickens (either for meat or for eggs) is fairly loose and recently some producers have been fined for false advertising because they made the conditions sound better than they were. They are trying to improve it but legislation is slow.
