Forum post statistics seem to be wrong
Hi, the forum statistics as shown on the forum home page seem to be wrong. The following is displayed for the 4 forum categories:
1. Introductions and FAQs
current activity: topics 3746, posts 16777215
2. Food, Wine and Gardening
current activity: topics 10372, posts 16777215
3. Foundation
current activity: topics 1905, posts 16777215
4. Leftovers
current activity: topics 6047, posts 16777215
So each category has the same number of posts (16777215)? This number also seems to be static. It was the same the previous day I checked (16777215), even though the topic counts changed.
And these numbers also don't add up to the topic/post totals as shown at the bottom of that page:
No of topics: 57321
No of posts: 67305149
Also, according to these stats, the posts/topics ratio is 67305149/57321 = 1174/1 - how can that be? Most forums have a posts/topics ratio of less than 100/1.

Wow, that must be the biggest forum topic I have ever seen! But still, the posts/topics ratio should not average out at over 1000/1, even with those big topics.

It's this forum's stats that brought me here in the first place! If the forum really has 67,305,155 posts, that makes it one of the biggest forums on the internet!

Re: Forum post statistics seem to be wrong
I determined this forum's true number of topic and posts using a little script I wrote. The number of posts I calculated is not even close to the 67,305,168 posts as shown on the forum's main page.
Here are the true totals (as of 2013-02-07 17h00 GMT):
Total number of topics: 21,967
Total number of posts: 386,920
This gives a posts/topics ratio of about 17.6/1 - which makes more sense.
So these are the stats for the portions of the forum that's visible to normal users. There are also 26 "broken" topics which show a reply count of about 16 million replies each. E.g. topics with ids:
25564, 25566, 25567, 25568, 25569, 25570, 25571, 25573, 25576, ...
