What are your cooking for the Oscars on Sunday?

Is anyone else planning something special to eat while watching the Academy Awards on Sunday? I thought perhaps I might have chicken wings and a caesar salad and maybe some fries too.
I'd love to hear your ideas. simple is best so I won't miss any of the fun!

Thanks. smile

Sorry to hear that Maree. Perhaps it's just a North American thing? Oh well, what will you be planning on Sunday anyway?

Not sure about whether others celebrate. I'm working tomorrow.

We don't get much coverage of the Oscars and I often hear the news the next day .
I have to say that I only take a vague interest .
We don't usually cook anything special for the Oscars but this year as it's my daughters birthday , she's booked a table at Jamie's Italian .

Oh yes, it's a big celebration around here!!  Others celebrate the superbowl, I celebrate the Oscars.  I love to watch the fashion, I don't pay too much attention to the winners/losers myself but the next day I love watching the fashion police dissect the dresses :0

I'm not quite sure what I'll be making, perhaps a roasted rack of lamb with lemon potatoes and a simple salad?

Wolfgang Puck caters the event and these are some of the dishes that are in store for those lucky attendees.  Beautiful pics and I'd like to try that smoked salmon oscar yum!!

Well, hubby picked up a boneless beef rib roast.  Can't complain, it's only my favorite type of sunday dinner!

Thanks koukouvagia. What a great link to Wolfgang Puck - Yummy!  I’m glad you will be watching all the fashions etc. too. I haven’t seen any of the movies, but I know it will be fun with Ellen hosting. A boneless beef rib roast sounds wonderful. A favourite of mine too. Will you have your dinner at the beginning of the Oscars or wait and have it half way through?  I also thought I might make chocolate brownies for dessert. What about you?
Mummza I hope you have fun, let us know how it goes. I hope your daughter has a great day!

Re: What are your cooking for the Oscars on Sunday?

Well, we start watching the red carpet walk on E! around 6pm and dinner is usually ready by 7pm, we'll be eating and watching.  LO is put to bed around 8pm and then the bubbly will begin smile

I hadn't thought about dessert.  I have flour, eggs, milk, butter, lemons, frozen bluberries, cinammon, and I should come up with something shouldn't I??
