  • 1 x red onion
  • Pack of green beans
  • Olive oil
  • Knob of butter
  • 1 x nutmeg
  • Crushed ground pepper
  • Sea salt
Get a pan of boiling water and add the green beans and let it boil for about 3-4 minutes and drain away the water

Put a frying pan on high heat and drizzle olive oil and add a knob of butter. Meanwhile finely chop up the onions and add it to the pan. Add a pinch of sea salt and let the onions soften and become caramelize

Season it with some freshly cracked pepper to the soft onions and add in the boiled green beans

Redneck science (secret ingredient)

Peel and crack off the protective layer of the nutmeg and using the finest holes of a grater, grate the nutmeg fruit into the onion and green beans mixture. You can use ground nutmeg, but a fresh nutmeg would taste better.

Season it with more salt and pepper and allow it to cook for another 5-6 minutes.
