  • 500g minced pork,
  • about 6 tbsp fresh breadcrumbs, soaked in water,then squeeze the water out
  • 1 med. egg,
  • 1 small onion (chopped very finely),
  • 2 cloves garlic (crushed),
  • 1 tbsp crushed fennel seeds
  • about 15 large basil leaves (finely chopped)
  • Salt and pepper to season
  • Fresh Tomato & Basil Sauce (see below)

Meatballs:

1. Mix together all of the ingredients.
2. Wet your hands and form the mixture into small meatballs (about 3cms big).
3. Fry in a little olive oil till lightly browned and cooked through.
4. Add to the tomato sauce (recipe link above) and simmer over a low heat for about 1 hour.

Serve with the pasta of your choice.
