Pork & Fennel Meatballs with Fresh Tomato Sauce

500g minced pork,
about 6 tbsp fresh breadcrumbs, soaked in water,then squeeze the water out
1 medē egg,
1 small onion (chopped very finely),
2 cloves garlic (crushed),
1 tbsp crushed fennel seeds
about 15 large basil leaves (finely chopped)
Salt and pepper to season

1. Mix together all of the ingredients.
2. Wet your hands and form the mixture into small meatballs (about 3cms big).
3. Fry in a little olive oil till lightly browned and cooked through.
4. Add to the tomato sauce (recipe link above) and simmer over a low heat for about 1 hour.
Serve with the pasta of your choice.
