This is a great shortbread recipe just to bang together in a mixer, i thought being scottish the first recipe i should post should be something scottish so here it is shortbread.
Ingredients
450 G Plain Flour
200 G Corn Flour - Or custard powder
250 G Icing Sugar
500 G Butter(unsalted)
50 ML Vanilla Extract
Method
Step 1/ Turn the oven on to 100Degrees Celcius Combine all ingredients in a mixing machine and beat on the lowest speed till it comes together be careful as the cornflour can often spill out as its so light.
Step 2/ Once it comes together take it out and knead it slightly before puting it in the fridge to rest for an hour after that just cut it into any shape you wish using a cutter.
For those without a mixer get a large bowl and combine the dry ingredients then sift the dry ingredients together 4 times into a large bowl again this is important.
Now rub the butter into the dry mixture till it starts to come together once you\'ve incorporated the butter add the vanilla and try to pull the dough together then knead it for a few minutes. Cook in the oven for around an hour time varies on how thick the pieces are a sign of readiness is there will be dimples on the underside of the shortbread and that itll be hard but not tough.
This is ofcourse hard to do without a mixer but can be done. I will upload a photo of my own handmade shortbread soon to show its possible =]
Enjoy

I tried this recipe. Excuse me, it's soooooooooooo boring... and extreme sweet...
it depends on gas electric or fan assisted if you look at the underneath of the shortbread there should be little imprints like burst air bubbles usually 1 hour for a fan assisted oven
How long do you leave shortbread in oven to bake.
Time appears to be omitted from recipe.
