Kourabiedes are a Greek fluffy dough pastry with almonds and powdered sugar. This recipe makes about 32 kourabiedes depending on the size. If you make any changes to this recipe that work well, I would love to hear from you.
1 cup unsalted butter
1/2 cup powder sugar
5 1/2 cups of flour
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup almonds
1 tablespoon ouzo
Clarify the butter and to it add sugar, flour, vanilla, almonds and ouzo. Mix lightly by hand. Once the mixture whitens, make small balls and place them in a pre-heated oven at 350 F for 30 minutes. Remove the balls from the oven and roll them in powder sugar. When they cool down, they are ready to serve.
