Re: How many bins do you get?
Local government rates (taxes) cover our three bins. I am used to having several compost bins/areas and worm farms but there's no room for them on my balcony and they are not permitted by strata law. I have minimal food waste, thankfully. Any bones or smelly seafood remnants I sneak into the dumpster (under cover of darkness
) across the road. It's emptied daily. All inorganic recycling goes into the one bin together.

Re: How many bins do you get?
Because we live in a rural area, we only get one bin for everything, which is collected weekly. However, I do put garden and vegetable waste on the compost, and I take bottles, plastics, batteries and paper to the recycling place when I'm passing!

Re: How many bins do you get?
One bin. Ours happens to be blue. Everything except garden waste and plastic goes into that bin. Garden waste is either collected by the locals for feeding the cows/buffaloes or burnt, whereas plastic is collected by the empty beer bottle collectors and we are paid by weight (it's not a lot).
However, there are little men who drive past on bicycles with trailers who will sort through the blue bin and remove anything that is recyclable (and they can get money for).
But here is a different world.

Re: How many bins do you get?
We have one bin into which all burnable waste goes. You organise to have this collected by an independent refuse collector who you pay. He then takes it to the local refuse center. They burn it, and use this to heats a number of municple buildings. Then they charge us again for recycling it!
All other types of rubbish (glass, metal, paper) you take to a recycling point. But like Coco, we recycle drinks bottles and also drinks cans at the supermarket.

I can't believe the wide selection of bins everyone has. Good to see we are slowly becoming more 'green-er'

Re: How many bins do you get?
In south east Wales, we have the main rubbish bin, plus a small green bin for food wastage. We have recycling bags (provided), one for plastic, glass, etc and the other for paper. It all works well.

In Tassie we get two bins.
One for general rubbish collected weekly.
One for recyclables collected fortnightly.
I have two compost bins.
Green waste can be taken to our local tip free of charge on our rates vouchers.
