Don't you have to be ultra careful with food safety with people undergoing that sort of treatment?
Garlic could be due to her being on other medication. I know some doctors suggest removing it when on blood thinners. If she has a regular pharmacist it might be a good idea to discuss meal planning around what drugs need to be taken when.
