This isn't an expression so much as a description, but in America, there is a type of house cat called a Tuxedo cat, because they look like they are wearing a tuxedo--black with white stomach and feet, little white faces with pink noses.

Well their name in Chinese is 2 words that translates into "Walking on snow looking for plum blossoms" and I think that is so beautiful--white tummy and feet from walking on the snow and pink nose from a plum blossom stuck to it!  So lovely...

Pablo was our beloved tuxedo cat, black and white with pink nose, the best kitty ever, thanks for the story.  I bet you didn't realize that's how we chose our forum names.  He died of old age, but had a wonderful life.

Here is the original Pablo, just so you know what we're talking about:

Yep, Pablo's a plum blossom hunter.  There's a pretty good chance that my forum name has to do with a pet, too.   smile

"Her s**t don't stink".  My South London Grandmother referring to her "posh" cousin in Harrow.  "All round Wilf's mother's".  Same Grandmother referring to a less than direct route to anywhere.  "As mad as a box of frogs".  From one of my wife's work colleagues from Atherstone, Warwickshire.
