Story by Fiona Rigby

On Thursday 14 January over 100 top Jamie at Home consultants and managers, plus their guests, were invited to join Jamie Oliver for an exclusive Gala Dinner at the beautiful Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane. The lovely people who host Jamie at Home parties are also incredibly important to the business, and so we were delighted to invite the top host in each of our regions to join us too. Consultants are self-employed people who sell the Jamie at Home products including Jme and Scent and Savour. Managers run a team of consultants, and the hosts are simply individuals who open their homes to the consultants to run a party.

The evening began with a cocktail reception and the opportunity for each attendee to get their photo taken with Jamie, after which everyone headed into the main ballroom. Awards were presented to our very top achievers, and then dinner was served.

The delicious starter of cured salmon with capers and salad of welsh herbs was followed by rack and rump duo of lamb with an apricot and lemon herb crust, rosemary potato cake, seasonal vegetables and minted jus.

Throughout dinner we were entertained by the fabulous Jonny Walker (www.jonnywalker.co.uk), a fantastic musician who was spotted busking on the streets of Norwich by Jamie at Home MD Kim Claxton. At one point Jonny was joined on stage by Jamie, who played an improvised drum which was a wine cooler and a pair of spoons! And then the dancing really began, with the party continuing late into the evening. Jamie at Home consultants enjoyed celebrating their successes and meeting Jamie as well.
