There’s nothing like a midweek party to make the rest of the week a struggle, but last night was the launch of a new cocktail bar at Jamie’s Italian in Angel, and we’re not one to miss an Italian spritz when it’s on offer.
Jamie was there to greet lots of special guests and help serve up some amazing new cocktails from a special menu devised with drinks guru, Simon Difford of Difford’s Guide.
The bar may be designed to match its trendy north London location, but it also offers some of the lovely traditions and recipes of Italy. Our bar staff will be knocking up classic cocktails such as spritz, negronis and vermouths, as well as guest craft beers and the UK’s largest grappa collection.
But most excitingly we’ll be embracing the traditions of the Italian aperitivo bar, serving free Italian-inspired snacks to drinkers between 5pm and 7pm, every weekday.
With all the lovely cocktails being handed out on trays it was lucky they were followed by endless samples of the lovely food that will go round during aperitivo hour – from pork and pâté meatballs to creamy scallops in their shells.
The new bar is a lovely place to wile away a few hours with a spritz and some lovely snacks. So whether you’re going on to dinner or just stopping by, come and give it a go – and definitely try a grappa or two!
