Jamie has described his latest restaurant as “completely beautiful” and full of “amazing staff”.
The Norwich Jamie's Italian officially opens next Monday (30th July) and is within a stone's throw of the historic castle.
Sitting within the beautiful Art Nouveau splendour of the city's Royal Arcade, the restaurant boasts all the usual Jamie's Italian offerings such as pasta and bread made on the premises and the best sourced produce.
Jamie turned up yesterday (Monday 23rd) to surprise the 110 new staff members on a training day to huge cheers and applause.
He told them how proud he was of the restaurants and how his relationship with Gennaro Contaldo, who helped establish the restaurants, was central in making them an international success story.
“This is one of the most beautiful restaurants, we only choose beautiful buildings and this one is right up there. The staff seem really capable and friendly and I'm really pleased with the way it has turned out.
“This is where you can get amazing, authentic Italian food without spending massive prices, our average spend is still £17.50 per head. It's got a great atmosphere as well, I really like this one a lot.”
