Jamie’s Wood-Fired Ovens have been centre stage at the RHS Hampton Court Flower Show 2012, and the garden designed around the oven even won an award.
The exhibit, built by Garden House Design, had to be created and available to the public for £13,000.
The oven, all of the decking, the pergola, the living wall, tiles and all the planting, had to be individually priced and come in at the £13,000 figure including VAT.
Visitors to the show were able to interact with the garden as well, which is normally not allowed at these types of events.
Garden House Design’s Debs Winrow told us: “We had to fit this into the concept of a low cost but high impact garden.
“In this garden they could see how the oven looked in situ in a garden rather than just on a trade stand, and also see exactly how much it cost. People loved the fact that they could actually buy the garden as they saw it at the show.”
Debs also explained that the 48-metre squared plot they worked with was the average size of a new-build house’s garden so would be possible to fit into many urban homes.
